I am working with a few female runners at the min who are also young Mums, I am finding a reoccurring issue generally on the left side of miss alignment from shoulder right down to ankle. Its seems second nature that we scoop up children onto our hips, but like bending our backs over instead of squating there could be long term damage through poor postural alignment

If this effects you, I would suggest that you invest in a front or back baby sling for longer periods of carrying and for the times that you just need to scoop the child up.try to alternate the hips & not stand with a tilted pelvis for prolonged periods of time. A program of stretching & especially hip strengthening will also help !
