No prizes for being a Diva

Motivation, mojo, meaning – whatever it is, it would appear that it’s very hard to obtain but all so easily lost - or is it just another excuse?

“I’ve lost my mojo” what does that mean exactly – if we apply it to running generally in my personal experience, we have just lost sight of the goal or forgotten what the goal was in the first place. It’s very easy to lose the vision – one bad race, a niggle or injury, the weather or just life in general which interrupts our training pattern, then suddenly it’s difficult to get back “on it” you worry that you have lost run fitness – you go out and it all seems like hard work.

Life is a lot cosier inside your comfort zone, and the longer you stay there – the harder it becomes to step away, knowing you risk failure – you know maybe it’s best to live on past glories, than forcing yourself into the unknown again, having to start at square one again, stripping it back.

Life is full of “armchair could have been” I know I was one myself, who call others mad crazy - if there is something you want to achieve then losing your mojo is just another excuse, another waste of talent. Life is your stage - take charge of the script, you only get one chance, this is not a dress rehearsal, and there are no prizes for being a Diva.

So forget the mojo – find a vision, hold that vision and trust in a process to get you there!

“Luck is the last dying wish of those who want to believe that winning can happen by accident. Sweat on the other hand is for the ones who know it’s a choice. So decide now, because destiny waits for no man. So when the time comes and a thousand different voices are trying to tell you: you are not ready for it, listen instead to that lone voice of descent, one that says you are ready, you are prepared, it’s all up to you know, so rise and shine.”

Happy Running
