The Luna Flake aka 99

Earned this little beauty yesterday at The Stort 30, it was also my flake Luna marathon (no 99 marathon distance & over run in Luna sandals)

An out & back course run along the river Stort. It's fairly flat once you get onto the river path with exception of a few bridges, quite scenic in parts with pretty canal barges & lovely Autumn colors on what transpired to be a bright & breezy day.

Easy navigation by the river but also clearly marked with red/white tape. Tricky & hard work under foot at times, with stones and tree roots some hidden under the fallen leaves. A bit of a climb back to the finish & the longest run around the sports field ever to reach the finish line. But worth it to be greeted by the great bearded one Lindley the RD with this cracking medal & a very nice tech shirt also, and in the club house the best cup of tea ever!

This is my 3rd time running the Stort 30 - yesterday was in the very good company of my friend Fran, 6 weeks after the Robin Hood 100 - I was not sure what to expect from the legs & the intention was a gentle pace just to start getting the miles back in again. Mission accomplished felt surprisingly good, a very relaxed race - except for the last 3 miles or so, its that time when you just want it done and to sit down with a nice cuppa!
